1. What is PatTuned?
PatTuned is a remote custom tuning service built around the JB4 platform. We create optimized tuning maps tailored to your specific mods, fuel blend, driving goals, and performance needs—without requiring a flash tune or ECU unlock.

2. Do you only tune JB4?
Currently, yes. We specialize in JB4 tuning because of its flexibility, ease of use, and proven results. However, we plan to expand into flash tuning and standalone ECU support in the future.

3. What tuning platforms does PatTuned support?
We currently support JB4-equipped vehicles only. Support for flash tuning platforms like MHD, BM3, and standalone ECUs may be added later.

4. Can I get tuned even if I’m a beginner?
Absolutely. We walk you through every step—from install to map loading and logging. No tuning experience is required to start using PatTuned.

5. What’s included in a PatTuned custom map?
Each map includes:

  • RPM-specific boost, fuel, and duty bias settings

  • OPT tab settings (advanced JB4 tuning)

6. What’s required to use a PatTuned map?
You need:

  • A properly installed JB4 system

7. What’s the difference between Map 1, Map 6, and custom tuning?

  • Map 1: Basic performance off-the-shelf map (low boost)

8. Can tuning damage my engine?
Only if done incorrectly or if you run the wrong fuel/mod setup. PatTuned maps are built with safety and reliability in mind. As long as you follow the map instructions and run proper fuel, the tune is safe for your engine.

9. Are your maps safe for daily driving?
Yes. Many PatTuned maps are specifically built for reliable daily use with smooth boost delivery, conservative timing, and clean fueling. We also offer more aggressive options for race or weekend builds.

10. Do I need to re-tune for colder or hotter weather?
No, our maps account for IAT and environmental changes. However, if you're pushing high boost, it’s smart to log your data seasonally to make sure everything remains safe and consistent.

11. Can I run your maps on a stock car?
Yes, we offer maps that are safe for stock or lightly modded vehicles. However, adding supporting mods (intake, downpipe, intercooler) will unlock the full potential of our tuning.

12. Can I switch maps anytime?
Yes. Using the JB4 mobile app, you can switch maps instantly. Many customers keep multiple PatTuned maps saved and rotate between them depending on fuel or driving conditions.

1. Who tunes the maps at PatTuned?
Every PatTuned map is custom-built by Pat (Jan Patrick McDowell), a dedicated performance tuner and enthusiast who’s spent years testing, logging, and building real-world street and race setups. Pat personally builds, tests, and verifies every map before it’s delivered.

2. What’s your experience with tuning?
Pat has extensive hands-on experience tuning JB4-equipped cars, testing fuel blends, logging performance data, and building optimized setups across Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and more. After being frustrated by lack of support from big-name tuners, he launched PatTuned to do things differently—more honest, more helpful, and more responsive.

3. Why should I trust PatTuned over other tuners?
We offer personal support, detailed customization, and clear instructions—something most tuning services lack. PatTuned is about respect, honesty, and proven performance. We care about your setup, your results, and your experience—not just your payment.

4. Is PatTuned affiliated with Burger Motorsports or JB4?
No. PatTuned is completely independent and unaffiliated with Burger Motorsports or JB4. We simply use the JB4 platform as our tuning tool because it offers flexibility, safety, and excellent results.

5. Do you work for BMS or have access to private files?
No, we don’t work for BMS and have no backend access to proprietary JB4 data. We tune through official public features available in the JB4 app and build everything through hands-on testing and data analysis.

6. What inspired you to start PatTuned?
Pat started PatTuned after experiencing poor support and one-line responses from major tuning brands. The goal was to create a premium tuning experience that focuses on customer support, reliability, and real-world results—something the tuning scene was missing.

7. Is PatTuned just one person or a team?
At its core, PatTuned is powered by Pat himself. Every map is hand-built, and every customer gets direct, personalized attention. We plan to expand into a larger team as demand grows, but the quality and personal approach won’t change.

8. What kind of cars do you tune?
We currently specialize in modern turbocharged platforms from Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota (Supra), and other JB4-supported vehicles. If it runs JB4 and has potential, we can build you a map.

9. Do you test the maps you sell?
Yes. All maps are tested with logs, simulated loads, and tuning simulations before release. We don’t sell anything we wouldn’t run ourselves.

10. What makes PatTuned maps different from other tuners or off-the-shelf JB4 maps?
Our maps are not generic templates. Every map is built around proven data, real-world testing, and personal tuning logic. You’ll get smoother delivery, better midrange torque, safer timing, and more responsive boost than stock OTS options—and we explain what we’re doing instead of keeping you in the dark.

 TESTING & QUALITY

1. Do you test all your maps before selling them?
Yes. Every PatTuned map goes through real-world testing, JB4 logging, and internal performance simulations before being released. If we offer it—it’s been tested, reviewed, and confirmed safe.

2. Do I need to run logs before getting tuned?
Not always. If you’re using one of our prebuilt maps and your mods/fuel match the requirements, you don’t need logs in advance. But for custom or advanced maps, we may request logs to make sure everything is safe before tuning begins.

3. How do I send you logs?
Using the JB4 Mobile app, go to the logging tab, hit record while driving, then stop and save the log. You can export the CSV file or screenshot it and send it directly to us via email, DM, or chat. We’ll tell you exactly what to send.

4. Can I see dyno or log proof for your maps?
Yes. Every map in our catalog includes mini dyno visuals (green vs orange lines) and JB4-style log graphs to show boost, AFR, and timing comparisons between baseline and tuned setups.

5. Are your maps safer than off-the-shelf JB4 maps?
Yes. PatTuned maps prioritize safe timing, stable boost, and reliable fueling. Many OTS maps are overly aggressive or unoptimized—ours are built for your actual fuel and hardware, with testing to back it.

6. What happens if something doesn’t feel right after I install the map?
Reach out to us. We’ll help review your logs, check your fuel, and make sure everything is working properly. In most cases, it’s a simple tweak or fuel issue—not a dangerous problem. We’re here to help.

1. What kind of power gains can I expect from a PatTuned map?
Gains range from +40 to +150+ WHP depending on fuel, mods, and map level. Every map card shows estimated HP/TQ gains compared to JB4 OTS. You’ll also get quicker spool, better throttle response, and a stronger midrange.

2. What’s the difference between each map level?
Each level reflects fuel octane and aggressiveness. For example:

  • 91/93 maps = safe daily setups

  • E30–E85 = performance-focused maps

  • 100–130 octane = race fuel & extreme builds
    As you go up, maps get more aggressive with timing, boost, and delivery.

3. Do your maps support flames, burbles, pops, or launch control?
Yes. PatTuned offers optional “Fun Features” like:

  • Flame Maps (stationary & rolling)

  • Pops & Bangs / Burbles

  • Launch Control Maps

  • Stealth Mode (quiet boost + no pops)
    These can be added to any map for $100 each.

4. Can you make my car shoot flames or bang on command?
Yes. We offer both rolling and stationary flame activation depending on fuel, mods, and your platform. Full activation steps and safety notes are included with every flame map.

5. Is it safe to daily drive a flame or burble map?
Yes—but with caution. These maps are meant for occasional use. Constant aggressive burbles or flames can add heat/stress to components. If you daily one, avoid excessive use at low RPMs or when the car isn't fully warm.

6. What is “Stealth Mode”?
Stealth Mode is a quiet, power-limited version of your main map. It reduces boost, disables flames/pops, and makes the car run smoother and more silent for situations like valet, service, or low-key driving.

7. What is boost-by-gear and can you tune it?
Yes. Boost-by-gear allows us to reduce boost in lower gears to prevent wheelspin or drivetrain stress. We can dial this in for FWD, RWD, or aggressive AWD launches.

8. Do you support launch control?
Yes. Our Launch Control Maps build boost off the line for stronger 0–60 or 60ft times. Requires traction prep and usually aggressive fueling.

9. Can your maps be used with stock turbos, hybrid turbos, or upgraded turbos?
Yes. We support:

  • Stock Turbo (most common)

  • Hybrid Turbo (e.g., IS20/IS38/Pure)

  • Full Race Turbos (custom tuning required)
    Let us know your turbo and mods—we’ll tune accordingly.

10. What’s the safest map to use daily?
91, 93, or E30 maps are safest for daily driving. They’re built for clean delivery, low heat, and smooth shifting while still offering solid gains.

11. What if my car feels faster on one map but not another?
That’s normal. Higher octane maps build power differently—some may feel smoother, while others hit harder. Logs and fuel quality make a huge difference. We can help pick the best one for your goals.

 SETUP, INSTALLATION & COMPATIBILITY

1. How do I install a JB4 and load a PatTuned map?
Install the JB4 unit by plugging the harness into your engine sensors (map, boost, etc.). Then pair your phone to the JB4 via Bluetooth, open the JB4 Mobile app, and load the PatTuned map we send you. We’ll guide you step-by-step if you need help.

2. What mobile app do I need for tuning?
You’ll need the official JB4 Mobile app by Burger Motorsports—available for both iPhone and Android.

3. Is PatTuned compatible with iPhone and Android?
Yes. All PatTuned maps are compatible with the JB4 app on both platforms. You can tune, log, and switch maps directly from your phone.

4. How do I update my JB4 firmware?
Open the JB4 app → go to Settings → Firmware Update → follow the instructions. We’ll remind you if your firmware is out of date before loading any map.

5. What if I don’t know how to install JB4 or load the map?
We got you. Every customer receives step-by-step setup help, and we also offer 1-on-1 tuning sessions if you want full support. You don’t need to be an expert—just ask.

6. Can I install your maps myself or do I need professional help?
You can install them yourself. If you can operate the JB4 app and follow basic instructions, you’ll have no problem loading our maps. Live support is available if needed.

7. What devices are required to use PatTuned maps?

  • JB4 tuner module (plugged into your car)

  • JB4 Bluetooth adapter

  • iPhone or Android device with the JB4 Mobile app

  • Optional: a laptop for exporting logs (but not required)

8. What’s the difference between a regular map and a PatTuned map?
Regular JB4 maps are basic off-the-shelf files. PatTuned maps are fully customized to your fuel, mods, and goals—with advanced settings, smoother delivery, and more aggressive tuning where safe.

9. Can I switch maps on the fly?
Yes. From the JB4 app, you can change maps instantly—even while driving. Most customers keep multiple PatTuned maps saved and switch based on fuel or mood.

10. What happens if I accidentally use the wrong map?
Your car will still run, but it may misfire, knock, or trigger a fault. For example, running a Race Fuel map on 91 octane is dangerous. Always match your map to your fuel, and ask us if you’re unsure.

11. Can I use PatTuned maps with other tuning platforms like BM3 or MHD?
No. PatTuned maps are built specifically for the JB4 piggyback tuning system. Flash tuning platforms are not supported at this time.

12. How do I know what TMAP setting to use?
We’ll tell you. TMAP setting depends on your sensor type (stock, 4 bar, 5 bar, etc.). Use the setting we specify in your map instructions or contact us directly if unsure.

13. Do I need to change any other JB4 settings before loading a PatTuned map?
Usually yes. We’ll give you exact instructions on Map 6 settings and OPT tab settings to ensure your tune runs properly. Never mix PatTuned settings with default JB4 ones unless instructed.

TOOLS, APPS & ADD-ONS

1. What is “Thunder” under the Featured Add-On Apps section?
“Thunder” is our internal nickname for optional PatTuned features like Flames, Burbles/Pops, Launch Control, and Stealth Mode. These are premium features that can be added to any map to enhance your driving experience, and each one includes full activation instructions and safety disclaimers.

2. What is the JB4 “OPT” tab and should I touch it?
The OPT tab in the JB4 app contains advanced tuning settings like IAT timing correction, FF/Wastegate, Fuel Open Loop, and Boost Safety. If you’re running a PatTuned map, we’ll give you the exact values to plug in. Do not change OPT settings unless instructed—they directly affect how your tune behaves.

3. What TMAP setting should I use?
TMAP settings determine which MAP sensor calibration your JB4 is using. Most stock sensors use Setting 1. If you have a 4-bar or 5-bar sensor upgrade, we’ll specify which TMAP setting to use in your map instructions. Setting it incorrectly can cause issues with boost or logging.

4. Do I need any special apps to use PatTuned maps?
Yes, you’ll need:

  • JB4 Mobile (iOS or Android) to load and manage your maps

  • Optional: a logging or ethanol calculator app for blending fuel
    All additional tuning happens inside JB4 Mobile—no other tuning software required.

5. Can I view or export logs from the app?
Yes. JB4 Mobile lets you view live data, record logs, and export them as screenshots or CSV files. We accept either format for tuning support and review.

6. What tools are needed for full setup?
Required:

  • JB4 tuner module

  • Bluetooth adapter

  • JB4 Mobile app
    Optional but helpful:

  • E85 content sensor (or calculator)

  • Fuel pressure monitor (for high boost maps)

  • Upgraded sensors (4 or 5 bar MAP)

  • 1-on-1 tuning support if you're new

7. Can I use the same JB4 map on different cars?
No. PatTuned maps are customized for your specific car, fuel, mods, and sensors. Using someone else’s map or copying one from another vehicle could cause serious issues.

8. Do you offer any special hardware or merch with your maps?
At this time, all tuning is digital—but PatTuned apparel, decals, and official branding gear are coming soon. Stay tuned to our Instagram and website for drops.

FUEL & MOD REQUIREMENTS

1. What fuel types do you support?
PatTuned supports a wide range of fuels, including:

  • 91 & 93 octane pump gas

  • Octane booster blends (e.g., 91 + VP Octanium)

  • Race fuels (100–130 octane)

  • E85 blends (E20–E85)

  • WMI (Water-Methanol Injection)

  • Hybrid blends like E85 + booster + WMI
    Each map lists exactly what fuel it requires.

2. What fuel should I run with each map?
Each map card clearly shows the required fuel. For example:

  • 91/93 = safe daily

  • E30–E85 = high-performance

  • Race fuel = max effort
    Do not run a higher-level map with lower-quality fuel. Always match your map to your fuel.

3. How do I safely blend E85?
Use a fuel blending calculator and start slow. For example:

  • 7 gal of 91 + 3 gal of E85 ≈ E30
    We’ll help you calculate your blend based on what’s available to you. If running full E85, you may need fuel upgrades.

4. How do I know my actual ethanol percentage?
Use a physical ethanol content sensor or inline gauge for exact readings. If you don’t have one, use a calculator based on how many gallons of pump gas and E85 you added. A safe margin is always recommended.

5. Do I need special fuel for features like flames or antilag?
Yes. Flame and launch maps require high-octane fuel, E85, or both. For example, flame maps typically require E40+, race fuel, or E85 + VP Octanium to safely ignite unburnt fuel under deceleration.

6. Do I need upgraded fuel pumps or injectors?
It depends:

  • For 91–93: Stock fuel system is fine

  • For E30–E40: Stock usually ok, but borderline

  • For full E85, WMI, or hybrid blends: You’ll likely need a LPFP helper, upgraded HPFP, or injectors.
    We’ll guide you based on your setup and goals.

7. What mods do I need to run flames?
Minimum:

  • Catless downpipe

  • Aggressive fueling (E85 or race fuel)

  • Custom exhaust setup
    Recommended:

  • Upgraded ignition system

  • Higher-octane mix (E50+, MS109, Octanium, etc.)
    We’ll confirm what’s required for your platform before enabling flame features.

8. Can I run your maps on a stock car?
Yes, we offer maps that are safe for stock or lightly modded vehicles. However, adding supporting mods like intake, intercooler, or downpipe will unlock more power and improve safety at higher boost levels.

9. Can I combine E85, WMI, and Octane Booster?
Yes—and we build specific hybrid maps for that. These setups deliver massive gains but must be built carefully with the right sensors and fuel system support. Let us know what you’re running and we’ll build a safe, optimized tune.

10. What sensors do I need for high boost (40 PSI+)?
You’ll need upgraded MAP sensors (4-bar or 5-bar). We’ll tell you which to buy and which JB4 settings to run (TMAP 2 or 3). Never run high boost on stock sensors—they max out early and give false readings.

11. Do you have any recommended parts or vendors?
Yes. We have trusted vendors for:

  • Charge pipes

  • Intercoolers

  • Sensors

  • Fueling parts

  • WMI kits
    Ask us directly and we’ll point you to the right brands or sellers based on your platform and goals.

1. How much does tuning cost?
Prices vary depending on what you need:

  • Single Map: $200

  • 5-Map Bundle: $500

  • Custom Hybrid One-Off Map: $350

  • Optional Add-Ons (Flames, Launch, WMI, NOS, etc.): $100 each

  • 1-on-1 Live Tuning Session: $500 for the first hour, $250 hr after

2. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept:

    We do not currently accept: Cash App or crypto.
    Payment plan services (like Afterpay/Klarna) are being considered.

3. How do I place an order?
You can order directly through our website by choosing a map or bundle, adding any features you want, and completing checkout. You can also DM us if you want a custom quote or help deciding what to get.

4. Can I change my map after it’s delivered?
We allow minor adjustments within reason (like boost tweaks or gear settings), but full rebuilds or fuel type changes will require purchasing a new or updated map.

5. Do you offer discounts or promo codes?
Yes. We occasionally offer launch promos, loyalty discounts, and bundle deals. Follow us on Instagram or check the site for the latest offers.

6. What is your refund policy?
Due to the digital and customized nature of tuning, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds once a map is built. However, if you experience an issue, we will work with you to make sure your map performs as expected.

7. How long does it take to get my map after ordering?
Most maps are delivered within 24–48 hours, depending on demand and map complexity. Hybrid or advanced builds may take longer. You’ll receive email or DM updates once your map is ready.

8. Can I pay now and get tuned later?
Yes. Some customers lock in pricing early, then activate their map or session later when their mods or fuel setup is ready. Just let us know when you're ready to begin.

Reach out immediately. We’ll review your logs, fuel, and settings to make sure everything is running correctly. Most issues are quick fixes like incorrect fuel, outdated firmware, or a missing sensor upgrade.

3. What if I get a check engine light (CEL)?
CELs can happen due to sensor or emission-related codes—especially if you're running a catless downpipe or aggressive map. We'll help you scan, read, and troubleshoot any codes that appear after tuning.

4. Do you offer live tuning support?
Yes. We offer 1-on-1 live tuning sessions via FaceTime, Zoom, or Discord starting at $1000. This premium service is for customers who want full real-time guidance through installation, logging, and tuning.

5. What if I accidentally leave the wrong map active?
Your car may still run, but performance will suffer and risk increases. For example, running a race map on 91 octane can cause knock. Always switch to the correct map for your current fuel and mods.

6. Will my car still work if I unplug the JB4?
Yes. Unplugging the JB4 will return your car to completely stock behavior. You can remove it any time for service, emissions checks, or troubleshooting.

7. How do I update my tune if I change mods or fuel later?
Let us know what changed and we’ll guide you. In most cases, you’ll need a revised map to match your new setup. Depending on the change, a new map purchase may be required.

8. Do you help with install questions or JB4 setup?
Yes. We walk you through everything from firmware updates to map loading. First-time tuners get full instructions and can message us anytime for help.

9. Do I need to send logs after installing a map?
We strongly recommend it. Even if your car feels great, logs let us confirm that boost, AFR, and timing are clean and safe. We’ll tell you how to log and what to send.

10. What’s the best way to get support quickly?

1. Do you ship or sell any physical products?
Not yet, but we’re working on it. PatTuned apparel, decals, banners, and custom accessories are coming soon. Join our newsletter or follow us on Instagram to be notified when merch drops.

2. Can I refer a friend or earn rewards?

3. Do you tune international vehicles or customers outside the U.S.?
Yes. All of our tuning services are remote and worldwide. As long as your vehicle is JB4-compatible and you have access to the JB4 Mobile app, we can tune you no matter where you're located.

4. Can I get a custom PatTuned decal, banner, or shirt?
Soon. We’re finalizing our official merch line, including:

5. Can I get sponsorship or be featured on PatTuned?
Yes, but it’s invite-only. If your build is clean, tuned by PatTuned, and has content worth showcasing—we might feature you on our Instagram or site. Reach out if you think you’ve got what it takes.

6. Can I keep my PatTuned map if I sell my car?
No. Maps are tied to the vehicle they were built for. If you get another car with JB4, we’ll offer you a return customer discount, but you’ll need a new map tailored to the new setup.

7. Can I store multiple PatTuned maps in the JB4 app?
Yes. You can save as many Map 6 configurations as you want and switch between them anytime based on fuel or driving style.

8. Will PatTuned ever release OTS (off-the-shelf) map bundles for download?
Possibly. We’re considering releasing a pre-built library of optimized maps for common setups—but personal support and safety will always come first.

9. Is there a way to get featured on your social media?
